Maria Ramundo, Ph.D.
Dr. Maria Ramundo is a licensed psychologist who received her doctoral degree in Clinical Health Psychology from CSPP/Alliant International University, San Diego CA. She also holds master’s degrees in Clinical Health Psychology and Clinical Psychology. Dr. Ramundo has provided a wide variety of intensive clinical services in educational, medical, and forensic settings.
Dr. Ramundo developed the protocol for preoperative psychological assessment for bariatric surgery at AtlantiCare Behavioral Health, and has extensive experience in providing therapy for patients and their families in the rehabilitation setting. She has also created and facilitated smoking cessation groups and other psychological interventions for health concerns. Dr. Ramundo has used evidence- based cognitive-behavioral therapeutic techniques to guide clients in coping with stress and emotional, physical and social challenges for over eleven years.
In addition to her considerable clinical work, Dr. Ramundo has remained active in academia and professional circles. She has taught college-level courses on psychology and related topics and has presented seminars at national professional meetings. Dr. Ramundo has conducted research in psychosocial oncology, fibromyalgia and arthritis, as well as emotional regulation and its impact on health status. Abstracts of her work in fibromyalgia have been published in the professional journals Psychosomatic Medicine and the Annals of Behavioral Medicine, and she has appeared on “Health Update” with Robin Stoloff and “Time Out for Health “of Channel 40 NBC.
Dr. Ramundo is an active member of the South Jersey Psychological Association. She is licensed to practice psychology by the state of New Jersey (Lic. No. 351004312000).
