Kelly Burgess, MBA, RD, LDN

Kelly Burgess is a licensed and registered dietitian whose private practice, To Better Health, LLC, partners with the Center for Emotional Health to provide the comprehensive Healthy Lifestyles program for our bariatric clients.  She has worked as an acute care dietitian for Virtua Health, and a nutrition counselor at outpatient and fitness facilities.

Kelly has always had a strong interest in health and preventive nutrition.  On a personal and professional level, she recognizes the value of following a healthy lifestyle to prevent the onset of chronic disease.  She has avoided chronic illness despite a family history of heart disease, diabetes and cancer.
 
Kelly’s passion is fueled by the health crises that our nation faces.  She understands the pressing need to lower the rate of obesity, reduce the onset of nutrition-related diseases, lower health care costs, and improve the general health of our community. 
 
To help her clients and patients attain their health goals, her private practice provides food, physical activity, and lifestyle counseling.  Kelly also conducts lunch and learns, cooking demonstrations, and grocery shopping tours. 

Kelly has a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ).  She also holds a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management from The Pennsylvania State University. 
 
Kelly was born in New Jersey, but was raised on the Caribbean islands of Trinidad, Puerto Rico and Haiti.  She has worked in several U.S. cities, including Atlanta, Dallas, New York and Philadelphia.  However, Southern New Jersey has been her home for the past 20 years.
